RSVP Singapore Charity Golf Day 2019

RSVP Singapore is the only non-profit organisation in Singapore developing senior volunteers and providing meaningful opportunities to serve the needs of the community. They currently have 2,500 volunteers serving more than 200,000 beneficiaries each year including the mentally disadvantaged, at-risk children from low income families and socially isolated seniors through our community service programmes.

Event details are as follows:
Event: RSVP Singapore Charity Golf Day 2019
Date: 8 May 2019 (Wed)
Time: 11.30am to 9.30pm (Tee-off at 1.30pm)
Venue: Singapore Island Country Club, Bukit Course, 240 Sime Road S(288303)
Guest-of-Honour: Minister Ng Chee Meng, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC)

Golfers can look forward to playing on one of Singapore’s beautiful golf courses at $2,000 per flight of 4 players, inclusive of lunch, dinner, goodie bag and a chance to win Lucky Draw prizes. RSVP also warmly welcomes any other support e.g. Adopt a Hole, outright donation, advertisement and sponsorship-in-kind.

Do help to support RSVP in this Charity Golf Day to raise funds to serve the underprivileged community through RSVP’s Centre of Excellence (COE) and various community service programmes. All donations received by RSVP after 1 April 2019 will be matched dollar-for-dollar under the Government’s Bicentennial Community Fund.

Champions Golf Founder Mr Alan Murray bids Farewell !

Champions Golf Founder, Mr Alan Murray has recently decided to retire from coaching and move back to Australia in the near future.

Alan has not been well during the past few years with serious skin cancer issues and is seeking ongoing treatment in Western Australia.

So the team at Champions Golf decided to hold some good bye events for Alan and to raise some funds for his future needs.

The first event was a lunch at the Richmond Golf Club in Alan’s hometown Sydney on 30th October attended by many of Alan’s old friends and fellow golf professionals & sports stars such as such :- Jack Newton, Rodger Davis, Peter Fowler, Colin McGregor, Walter Godfrey, Tim Woolbank and Chris Gwilliam. Stuart and Cynthia from Champions Golf came down to Sydney to lend a hand.

Then Alan and Matthew headed over to Alan’s new hometown of Perth to have a special lunch at his old golf course, Whaleback Golf Course kindly hosted and sponsored by his old business partner, Mr Peter Hopkins.

This event was also attended by many of Alan’s family, old friends and fellow golf professionals & sports stars such as such :- Terry Gale, Ross Kelly and Stan Peach.

Then for the Singapore grand golf game and gala dinner we decided to host the event at the Singapore Island Country Club as Alan was Head Professionals there in the 70’s and has many fond memories and friends there.

The event was graced by over 90 golfers and 150 dinner guests including golf & sports stars in attendance such as Stewart Ginn, Kyi Hla Han, Scott Barr, John Powell, Garry Doolan and Stuart Andrew.

An auction was held with Memorabilia sponsored by Sir Nick Faldo, Sir Bob Charles, Adam Scott, Fuzzy Zoeller, Stewart Ginn, the Taiheiyo Club, Geoff Allendorf, Stuart Andrew, Macau Golf & Country Club, Jimmy Stewart and Singleton Whisky (Diageo) and sponsors included:- Laguna National Golf & Country Club, Adidas, TaylorMade, Singleton Whisky (Diageo) & Aqua (Field Catering Pte Ltd,
